Home / Medicaid and payment options
Understanding how home care is paid for
Paying for care can feel complicated. Compassion Home Care accepts Medicaid waiver participants and can help families understand the information needed to begin the intake process.
Coverage is not automatic. Eligibility, service authorization, approved hours and plan participation must be confirmed before covered services begin.
Community HealthChoices
Community HealthChoices, often called CHC, is Pennsylvania's Medicaid long-term services and supports program for eligible individuals, including certain adults with physical disabilities and people who qualify for both Medicaid and Medicare.
For participants served through our Pennsylvania location, Compassion Home Care can help explain the agency intake process. The state and the participant's managed care organization determine eligibility, approved services and hours.
Coverage and network participation are subject to confirmation.
Information that helps us review your situation
Have the participant's basic details and current Medicaid or waiver information on hand when you contact us. See the full checklist we ask every new intake for.
What we will and will not tell you
We will explain the intake process, the documents that are usually required, and what happens after a request is submitted. We will also tell you when a question belongs to your supports coordinator or health plan rather than to us.
We will not promise that Medicaid will cover your care, guarantee a number of approved hours, or display payer logos for plans we have not confirmed a current agreement with.
Let us review your coverage together
Call our office with whatever paperwork you have. If something is missing we will tell you exactly what to ask for and who to ask.
